The article deals with the research of semantic relations, namely, hypero-hyponymic relations existing between phraseological units (PU). These relations were analyzed on the example of PU, united by the concept of "man" in modern English. The study confirms that most PU may be classified according to a hyponymic structure. Hyponymy is considered as one of the possible semantic systemic relations between phraseological anthroponyms (PA). PA can build a hierarchy of relationships, i.e. hyponyms are hyperonyms. The article studies the possibilities of subordinating the units of the system to the rule of hyponymic structures. The relationship between PA in the hyponymic aspect revealed a strict hierarchy among PA with positive, neutral and negative evaluation, without violating the positions of hyponyms and the corresponding hyperonisms. Some hyperonyms tend to concretize values. In the article, cases of dehyperonimization and hypo-hyperonical variation are noted. In the analysis of hyponymic relationships, the depth and width of the unfolding of the hyponymic structure is revealed, which determines the specificity and uniqueness of the hyponyms of a small group of phraseological units united by the general concept of "man."
