Various definitions of the &amp;lsquo;discourse&amp;rsquo;, &amp;lsquo;film discourse&amp;rsquo;, &amp;lsquo;discourse of cinematography&amp;rsquo; concepts are presented and compared. The authors&amp;rsquo; definitions of the &amp;lsquo;TV-format&amp;rsquo; and &amp;lsquo;TV-format discourse&amp;rsquo; concepts are formulated and discussed. Further, such peculiarities of the TV-format discourse as discourse reconstruction and discourse of reconstruction in the TV-format are revealed and considered. The similarities and differences of the revealed features are explored through the example of the discourse in the TV-format of one of the episodes of &amp;lsquo;Downton Abbey&amp;rsquo;, a British historical TV-series. It is revealed that the Edwardian era reconstruction discourse in the TV-format can be seen in the reconstruction of the historical event &amp;lsquo;the use of electricity in everyday life&amp;rsquo;, which really happened precisely in the beginning of the XX century, and also the combination in accordance with the epoch-screened images of characters, the environment, geographical location, etc. The discourse reconstruction in the TV-format of the &amp;lsquo;Downton Abbey&amp;rsquo; TV-series is presented in the dialogue form of communicants who lived in the Edwardian era. Gender, age and social differences effect the communicants&amp;rsquo; speech. These differences are expressed in the use of certain lexemes and word combinations in the presented characters discourses.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article is devoted to the identification and study of the reconstruction of ethnic and social specificity of the Edwardian era discourse features in the modern British &amp;lsquo;Downton Abbey&amp;rsquo; (2010-2016) historical television series.
