The article investigates the key concept of the French linguistic culture «patrimoine». The author studies vocabulary and discourse manifestations of the concept including its correlation with the national mentality of the French language informant. The position is put forward that the concept under consideration is related with under-concepts not only at the level of systemic and structural relations, but it has strong ethnic and cultural characteristics because of their relevance to the French linguocultural community.
