The sermon as the format of religious discourse is researched. The cognitive and hermeneutic analysis of the sermon architectonics &amp;laquo;Sunday before Pentecost&amp;raquo; by metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh is performed. Some specificities of the religious knowledge format are identified, including: (1) the word God is pronounced 50 times; (2) temporal text vectors alternate from nowadays to biblical times, then to nowadays; (3) reference to the Holy Books; (4) cyclicity of the words representing the journey in biblical times and nowadays; (5) the presence of a cultureme and biblical toponyms. The basic cognitive structure of the studied sermon is a cognitive scene &amp;laquo;Gifts&amp;raquo;. The predominance of duble-vectorial linear cognitive subscenes in the sermon architectonics &amp;laquo;Sunday before Pentecost&amp;raquo; by metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh is identified.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article deals with the discourse as the complex communicative and cognitive research synergetic construct.
