Interpretation of Human Emotion: An Implementation of Compassion through Karuna Rasa in Manjula Padmanabhan’s Lights Out

This study delves into the nuanced exploration of human emotion, specifically focusing on the manifestation of compassion through the aesthetic lens of Karuna Rasa in Manjula Padmanabhan’s play, Lights Out. Emotions constitute a fundamental aspect of the human experience, and this research aims to unravel the intricate layers of compassion as depicted in the narrative. Drawing inspiration from classical Indian aesthetics, performing, and theatrical arts, Karuna Rasa encapsulates a complex ecstatic and emotional spectrum associated with compassion, empathy, and benevolence.
