THE MODEL OF DESCRIBING THE LINGUISTIC PERSONALITY OF A MEDIA-PERSON

The article presents a three-component descriptive model of a linguistic personality explicating their speech behaviour in the context of media discourse. Creating linguistic personality portrait aimed at finding similar, repetitive factors of level, super-segmental and activity character implies studying this personality’s discourse in three aspects – communicativepragmatic, stylistic and culturological. As parameters for the description, the author points out both quality characteristics of the speaker’s linguistic personality (the type of the linguistic personality, the type of speech culture, communicative strategies and tactics, linguistic features, gender characteristics, communicative levels, speech-behaviour scenario) and genre parameters of media discourse structure (relevance to the «format», linguistic-culturological scenario, genre repertoire). The author comes to the conclusion that such a multi-component model can thoroughly describe the linguistic personality of any media person, taking into account the factors determining their speech behaviour.
